Nba live mobile playoffs – Washington takes game one

This game was a struggle to watch as both clubs shot terrible. Washington took 99 shots from the field making only 39 while Toronto took over 91 shots making only 34. Washington had a total of 61 rebounds with 19 on the offensive side.  Toronto led by four after the first quarter but Washington would change that very quickly taking a four-point halftime lead. Washington raised the lead to nine after three and look liked they would easily win game one. Toronto would not give up and forced overtime at 82 but could only manage two points in overtime to lose at home in game one to Washington 93-86.

Paul Pierce scored twenty points to pace all players. Washington also got 16 from Bradley Beal and 12 points and 13 rebounds for Nene Hilario. Amir Johnson led the Raptors with 18 points as the Bench for Toronto scored 48 points for the club. Game Two will be back in Toronto on Tuesday night. I look for Raptors to rebound and take game two with a seven-point win.

The Western Conference playoffs start with the #8 seed New Orleans Pelicans traveling to meet the #1 seed Golden State Warriors. The Warriors had the best rest season record for the NBA live mobile hack with a record of 67-15 while New Orleans comes in with a record of 45-37.

This series will be over early with Golden State sweeping New Orleans in four games. Led by Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson the Warriors should win every game by 7 or more. New Orleans is lead by Anthony Davis with is averaging a double-double with 24.4 ppg and 10.2 rpg. New Orleans does have seven players who average 9.0 ppg. Golden State has only five players averaging 9.0 ppg but Curry and Thompson both average over 20.0 points a game.

The 2019 NBA Playoffs starts with a 4-5 matchup in the Eastern Conference. The Washington Wizards come in as the fifth with a 46-36 regular season record. They will travel to meet the number four seed Toronto Raptors. Toronto finished the regular season with a 49-33 record.

Washington is led by point guard John Wall and Shooting guard Bradley Beal. Wall is averaging 17.6 points a game and 10.0 assists per game. Beal is averaging 15.3 points a game. Every starter averages at least ten points a game.

Toronto gets over 20 points a game from DeMar DeRozan and 17.8 from Kyle Lowry. Toronto comes in averaging 104.0 ppg while giving up 100.9 ppg. This matchup will be very close and everything points to Toronto advancing to the next round but I like Washington to win this series in six games. Game one for this nba live mobile hack is today and Toronto is favored by 4 but Washington will steal this game by six to take a 1-0 lead in series.

Safe Schools, Healthy Kids – Second Part

I was telling you about 3 weeks ago about a program that I followed when I was in school. I present you the second part of that program. I still think that kind of programs should be implemented in our schools.

Prevention and Intervention

We all know the only way to keep our schools safe and our children healthy is to create an environment in which our children feel cared for and connected.

This section encompasses 6 hours on identifying and intervening with students:

  • Learn techniques to identify when a child is at-risk and how to approach that child.
  • Learn about the “signs” that kids post in their attempt to seek help and what you can do to assist the professionals who can fully address the issues.
  • Learn how to quickly gain rapport and test if you have attained it. Once established, you can open the communication channels in ways which were previously unavailable.
  • Learn the characteristics of a good disciplinarian and how you can model those traits to improve your disciplinarian skills.
  • Utilize the skills you learn to create a school environment that will allow your students to feel safe.

Crisis Planning and Management
When the time comes to enact a School Crisis Plan, you gain a true appreciation for all the pain-staking planning that went into its development.
Chris Arsasi, Assistant Superintendent of Policy and Planning, Cobb County Public Schools, a suburban Georgia, school district, gives you an in-depth look at how his large school system collaborated with a number of outside agencies to develop a strong, well-rounded crisis manual. From suicide hotlines to Columbine-like attacks, Tony walks you through the development of a plan. Understand the reasoning behind the directives they established and how they communicated their plan to faculty and staff, parents, students, community members and outside agencies. Cobb County also provided a copy of their manual as a resource to assist other schools in the development or revision of their manual.

Case Studies of Planning in Action

Learn from those who have had to enact their plans in a variety of ways, from bomb threats, fire drills, death of a student/faculty member, to a full blown crisis exercise.

Crisis Response

Learn the importance of establishing a relationship with local law enforcement. Doing this while in the development or review of your plan will increase your local agency’s familiarity with your plan and can greatly assist all involved during a crisis.

Learn about the types of information you should have readily available when the police arrive on your campus.

Learn how providing building blueprints, clearly identified building keys, etc., greatly expedites a police intervention.

Learn about the variety of law enforcement deployments being used and how they impact response to a crisis.

Learn how to manage the incredible mass of people, parents, concerned citizens and the media who appear on your campus as news gets out about the crisis.

Learn how to act as an interim hostage negotiator until the official hostage negotiator arrives on site.

Learn how to survive as a hostage and how to help others survive a hostage situation too.

In many cases, when an incident occurs, it is not over when its over. Learn from people who have assisted schools in handling some of our country’s most horrific school crises and provided the support and services both staff and students need to regain a sense of normalcy. Understand the concept of a “Flight Team” also known as “Rapid Response Team” and the role it plays in managing a crisis and supporting your school community after the crisis. Different events have different outcomes and require different types of support services and aftercare. Learn to identify how to meet the needs of your school community. Learn how to identify and defer students whom you think need counseling. Teachers and administrators shouldn’t feel as though they need to provide counseling services, but need to recognize the signs of someone needing assistance.

The Quick CLICK Personality Assessment

Understanding your own and a student’s personality can greatly impact the effectiveness of your communication. Use the CLICK Personality Assessment to identify your personality to better understand how you respond and react to your environment. Identify a student’s personality to learn how to approach that student. This Assessment offers insight into how to communicate better!

More On: Teacher Evaluation

Few days ago I met with ex teacher. I told him about my blog and he was very happy. He sent me some material about what was school when he was young. Enjoy it.

I remember way back to 1987 when I landed my first school administrator’s position and had to start evaluating teachers.  I was all of 28 years old and proud that I was now a school principal, but it suddenly dawned on me that this was for “real.”

old school edu

I was responsible for evaluating teachers who worked at the school and it scared me.  I remember talking to my father one weekend and telling him about my concerns.  He told me to remember, “Don’t tear them down. Build them up.”  That was great advice that I still believe in. However, building them up was more or less subjective.  I had to use a union approved form that gave the options of “satisfactory” or “unsatisfactory” in whatever areas the district and union agreed were important.  Anything beyond that was my opinion and observation. There was very little science to the process.  I wanted the process to be meaningful, but in the end I couldn’t honestly say the evaluation process was a meaningful growth experience.  And, ultimately I couldn’t say that the evaluations resulted in better teaching and improved learning.  It was a process mandated but not meaningful. Much has changed over the past 24 years.  Research, practice and implementation of best practices have become the norm.  Frameworks are employed to help create a meaningful process.  Standards of practice are widely accepted and the evaluation process is much more meaningful.  The Charlotte Danielson Teaching Framework is widely adopted and creates the ability to conduct meaningful teacher evaluations and allows for a growth process that benefits teaching practice.

The ultimate goal for teacher evaluation is to improve student learning.  What was missing when I started in administration was a structure.  Teacher evaluation was based on the whim of those who held authority and not really based on research and best-practice.  Take a look at the video below to view an introduction of the Danielson Framework as it relates to teacher evaluation.  Then, if you will, please share your thoughts below as comments.

Significance of a Uniform in the School

Let it be a private or public school, most of them have their own dress code for their students. Every morning when we go for a walk, we watch the kids rushing towards their schools in different uniforms. Sometimes, we wonder the significance of a uniform of a school.

Why is it important for the kids to be in uniform? Does it make any difference?

The biggest impact of a uniform is that it depicts the sense of uniformity in each student. Uniform hides the social status of kids and creates the aroma of equality among kids. Whether the kids belong to a royal family or come from a servile community, sense of equality and uniformity persists among the kids. Being in uniform, it also generates the sense of discipline among students and belonging to a particular institution. Students get a complete environment to concentrate on their studies and are not carried away by other distraction. Pride and bonding develop among the kids, this improves their attendance and self confidence germinates in them.

Miscreants from other schools or from outside the premises could easily be identified. Thus prevent the mishap before hand and safety of kids is well maintained.

A few schools that missed implementing the uniform in their premises often run into trouble in various areas. Students wearing trendy dresses often create an inferiority complex among each other.  A small power group starts developing in the premises depending on the money, dress and power. Kids often get lured to such dresses and money and in no time get involved in wrong doing. Some parents do cry about the financial burden of uniform implemented by the school. School is the stepping stone for each kid. Grooming them in the best way is our priority. A uniform may not be mandatory in a school, but its absence is questionable.

Uniform is panache of discipline and equality, kids should be proud of it.

Physical Education: Do Our Kids Need It?

Physical education is the course introduced during schooling of kids. With increasing demand of kids with high IQ, the system is pushing away the physical education out of the curriculum and is getting replaced by unrelated subjects.  Burden of books and excess pressure among kids to compete for the Top Three have constrained them to their study room.

How physical education can help the kids in future and why it is needed?

Kids being preoccupied in their rooms and left baffled with their puzzled questionnaire often develop health issues. Lack of physical activity slowly cripple the functioning of the body and leave the mind exhausted. On a detailed study of physical education, its biggest positive impact was seen on the health of the kids. Physical education boosts physical fitness. Physical activity such as sports helps in development of muscle, blood circulation and immune system at the early stage of kids.  Body composition, flexibility and coordination enhances with the period of time. Yoga, Karate or Ti chi (ancient martial art) work as stress busters for the kids. Objective of all the three activities is to increase concentration and generate positive vibes within the kids. A sense of self confidence springs in kids, and they can think and decide in a much positive way. Such activities will not only excel kids in sports but in their academics too.

Physical education course that deals in soccer, basket ball, cricket or sports that involve groups of kids tend to develop the cooperation and responsibility for each other. Leadership traits and accountability of their actions gradually progress during their schooling days. Sense of responsibility and commitment tends to develop easily if physical education is provided through a good coach. Statistical finding has pointed out that most of the parents have always back footed while favoring for physical activities of their kids. Over protective, fear of losing the games and waste of time were a few astonishing facts that were highlighted during the survey.

Being protective is not wrong but being overprotective is just making the kids ignorant towards the real fact of life and social responsibilities. If a kid losses a game, it doesn’t symbolizes the kid is a loser. Physical education is not about winning and losing the games. It is to motivate them and to keep the winning spirit alive in their minds. Wastage of time is the oldest and a common myth existing in a parent’s mind. The fact mentioned above contradicts such myth. Physical education is an excellent way to develop kids mind, body and soul and promises a productive and healthy adulthood.

Education: My English Teacher and a Smiley

I was almost 15 when I got enrolled in high school. Things never really bothered me whether it was money, place or at school.

Why should they?

I belonged to a royal family, and I am born royal. My childish and immature mind never let me slip from my formal state and framed me into a spoiled brat in my school. Friends treated me graciously while teachers conveyed their remarks as the most stubborn and a failure kid of all time. I was a spoiled kid but not in all subjects. I always scored fantastic marks in all other subjects except English. Whenever, my dad used to gaze down the report card, his smile abrupt and eyes get stuck on one subject prominently. As usual, same question was yelled out at me, time and again:

-You scored less in English.

My answer: My English teacher doesn’t like me. It is always easy to blame others especially when the dad questions you! English was not my favorite subject, not because I didn’t like it. But, often it was the teacher’s attitude towards me, which de-motivated my interest for the subject. Grammar and Punctuation used to turn the blue pages of my note book into red remarks. I used to explore my work between the remarks and cross signs displayed on the pages. It was my first day in class tenth. It was a habitual morning, surrounded by my familiar friends and yes, as usual, classes commenced with the English class except the books were new.Oh! One more change happened that day. A new English teacher had come to teach us. So what?  That didn’t inspire me to study English!

A quick introduction to the new class, the teacher started with a new chapter and gave home work for the next class. Next day, I came to class without completing my home work. Expecting the usual treatment for not completing my homework did not made me nervous. How bad she can be? Kneel down for a whole day or being out of the class or insulting remarks would be yelled into my ears. Still puzzled within the option punishment, my English teacher came to me and asked for the homework and I nodded my head indicating that I did not do? She smiled and asked me to do it next day. I repeated my carelessness and my teacher smiled and offered me the chance repeatedly. My carelessness started to deter, and I dared to complete my home work. Mischievous devil in me laughed and said be prepared for all bad remarks in the notebook. Well, the very next day I handed my homework. Her scrutinizing eyes went through my homework. Her eye brows raised, and she looked at me.

That’s it! I am back to square one, flashed in my mind. At the end of the class, my English teacher gave me my note book and thanked me for completing my home work. It was strange. I knew the consequences and much aware of my mistakes. Yet, I wanted to open my notebook. At the end of the page was a “Smiley”. I don’t know what happened next! My body and soul felt light and elated. I wanted to melt in the thin air with joy! Suddenly, English seemed to be the most interesting subject and my grammar and punctuation stopped bothering me in my homework.

Today, I am an active blogger and an established article writer. With each passing day, I never forget to thank my English teacher for the laurels won by me! This article is an attempt to highlight the issue of educating kids in the school. Teachers can always make a healthy change in a kid’s life!
