Hollrr is the fun and easy way to keep  track of the great new product and services  your friends are discovering.

How do I Hollrr a product?

Can't wait to shout about a product you love? Its easy.... just go the 'Home Page', enter the name of your product and click 'Hollrr This!'. Then you have the option to write a short description (no more than 200 characters) on why you love it and tag the category of the product!

 

What happens if a product I want to Hollrr is not listed?

You're in luck! You get the honor of adding the first Hollrr!

Who are these people following me?

Well… how can we put this. They kinda think you’re a big deal. They really like the stuff you keep discovering and recommending, so they follow you to hear all about it.

 

Sweet…how do I follow people?

Every time you see a person’s name on Hollrr, you can click on their name to take you through to their profile page. Each profile page has a ‘Follow’ button in the top right corner of their profile box. Just click to follow… Also… if you wanna follow all your friends on Hollrr, the easiest way is to use the ‘Find your friends’ feature. That way you can see which of your friends from your address book, Twitter or Facebook are on Hollrr.

 

How do I help my friends find my Hollrrs?

There are a couple of ways... you can :

  • Share your Hollrr with your friends and followers on Facebook and Twitter
  • Recommend your Hollrr to a specific friend on Facebook
  • Download the Hollrr Widget and install it on your blog

Or, you can use the ‘Invite friends by email’ feature to tell them about Hollrr. That way they can sign-up and see all your Hollrrs in one place. Plus…they might start Hollrring too, so you can find out about all the cool stuff they are discovering.

 

What are these ‘like’ and ‘comment’ links?

Okay… lets admit it, we’re all suckers for flattery. A simple compliment can make your day!

If someone writes a great Hollrr, we think you should be able to tell them. That’s why ‘Likes’ and ‘Comments’ are there….a quick and easy way for you to say ‘nice job’ or ‘oh sweet, I can’t wait to check that out’.

Please use liberally!

 

How do I download a widget?

Its easy peasy lemon squeezy. In the top right of every screen, click on the 'Download Widget' button.

Choose the size and color of your widget... and voila.

Then click on the link to 'auto-insert' the widget into your blog... or, if your blog platform doesn't support it, follow the simple instructions.

 

 

Badges and Chiefs and Points, oh my!

 

How do I unlock badges?

By Hollring great stuff! You'll unlock some badges at the start, and then more as you keep Hollrring. But to unlock the good stuff.... you have to be writing Hollrrs that other users like, and by being the first to Hollrr cool new products and #Tags that become popular:

  • Karma badges – unlocked when your followers find your recommendations helpful
  • Trailblazer badges – unlocked when you are one of the first to spot products that becomes popular
  • Trendsetter badges – unlocked when you start a #tag category (i.e. #TravelEssentials) that becomes popular

Are you guys developing more badges? Absolutely! Stay tuned.... as we think up good ideas, we'll keep adding new badges.

 

How do I become a Chief?

If you Hollrr a lot in a #Tag category, and your Hollrrs are good, you become the Chief. It's that simple.

What are good Hollrrs? Good Hollrrs are Hollrrs on new products and Hollrrs liked by other users. For example (and in order of importance):

  • Someone 're-Hollrring' a product you added
  • Adding a new product and being the first to Hollrr
  • Getting a like on your Hollrr
  • Writing a Hollrr

Also...to become Tag Chief, you must also have attached a photo to your profile (you have a beautiful face and we want to see it!)

 

How do I earn points?

You earn things by doing things that are good for the Hollrr community. We award points for things that enhance the experience of all the users in the community.

For example (and again in order of importance):

  • Becoming a Tag Chief
  • Adding a product
  • Getting a Follower
  • Getting a 'like' on a one of your Hollrrs
  • Having another user 're-Hollrr' a product you added
  • Writing a Hollrr
  • Having a #Tag you started used by somone else
  • Using a tag
  • Following another user

Our leader board is reset the 1st of each month.... but don't worry. The good stuff will earn you points in the future.

 

Is your points system perfect?

Nope. Who you are kidding? ;)

We're new to this, so its invariably broken, biased, short-termist, confused and going thru an 'awkward phase'.

How do I list my product?

First, sign up as a Product Owner by clicking the 'Click here if you are a Product Owner' link on the home page.

Or if you are already signed up to Hollrr, go to the 'Settings' tab and convert your account to a 'Product Owner Account'

 

How can I put Hollrr buttons on my product site?

Every product listed on Hollrr has a selection of buttons available so products owners, bloggers or anyone else who wants to encourage people to give a shout-out to a product can do so on their site.

Our goal is to make these ‘Hollrr This!’ buttons as common place as the ‘Digg’, ‘Delicious’ and ‘ShareThis’ buttons you see on the internet.

Getting access to the Hollrr buttons is as easy as pie. On the bottom right of each product page, there's a link to get the buttons.

Follow the link and take your pic from the selection of buttons to insert onto your webpage.
